The Preeminence of Christ (Col 1:15-20)

** I would recommend downloading the full audio or the full video!

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

I love this passage because it shows just how amazing, essential and wonderful is our savior, Jesus Christ. We can see this through the “3 P’s”, Power, Purpose, Peace. It gives us power because we know that no matter how big or dominant something may feel, we are safe and can live with boldness because no creation is over it’s creator. It gives us purpose because there is no longer anything in our life that is meaningless or unimportant for everything we do, say, see or experience is for the glory of Jesus. And it gives us peace because we are reassured that although we have separated ourselves from him through sin, if we repent and put our faith in this amazing savior then he will reconcile us to him through the blood of the cross.
