What I’ve learned in 2009 – Part 3

-“Grey skies are just clouds passing over.” – Duke Ellington … Jesus doesn’t promise a pain free life. Instead, he gave up his own comfort in heaven and came to earth. He stepped into the mess to get the mess out of us. Because of this we have a God who can relate to us. Jesus told his disciples that there would be trouble in this world, but to take heart because he has overcome the world. We have a Savior who knows what we’re going through because he’s gone through it. Even if the clouds don’t pass in this world, they will on the day you see Jesus face to face.

John 16: 33; Hebrews 4: 14-16

-“Don’t be embarrassed by how needy your heart is and how much it needs to cry out for grace. Just start praying.” – Paul Miller

-There is no participation in Christ without participation in his mission in the world.

-My life is a wreck if I don’t pray.

-Growth is measured in season, not in weekends, in the small moments, not just the big ones.

-God loves me through the people has placed in my life.

-God calls us to make disciples, not convert. God converts people.
